2005 WebBall Hitting Challenge

Inspired by the success of earlier Pitching Challenges, we invited hitting instructors from across the US to submit articles.
How we set this up.

We received 6 essays varying in length from 1000 to 2000 words. As we did in the prior Challenges on pitching (2002, 2004), the first round was a 'blind taste test' - people could read the opinions but weren't told who the authors were. All we said was that they represent opinions from every coast, from those who work with pros and elite amateurs, including both active coaches and instructors.

The articles offer not only basic opinions, but some very unique insights into the process of training, some unusual perspectives on hitting and some unexpected points of view. We hope you find them enlightening, entertaining, educating, and challenging.
The Results

Once we closed off the voting, we revealed the authors, tabulated the results, and posted voter comments as well.

All challenge articles express the opinions of the authors (and voters) and do not necessarily reflect the approach recommended by WebBall.
